Or you could just take off the cover and the padding, cut the back ridge completely off, add other plastic or some thin bendable metal in place of the ridged area to form a modified seat pan, then add more padding under the midsection of the seat where your butt sets, recover and staple cover back on. The extra padding will take up the extra space in the cover made from removing the back few inches of the pan. This actually makes the seat a little higher and flatter. I'm 6'2" and it along with harley cafe' low bars really helped.
